Version 2026-09-04 · Effective from 2026-09-04
This policy explains what happens to your data when you connect an outside AI assistant — such as Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini — to your Finocket workspace. It is published by Demystify Systems LLP and supplements our main Privacy Policy, which continues to apply to everything else.
In one paragraph
Connecting an AI assistant is entirely your choice. Nothing is connected unless you sign in and approve it, and you choose which single workspace it may reach. When you do, the information that assistant reads to answer your questions leaves Finocket and is sent to that assistant’s own servers, which are outside India. We cannot control what happens to it there — that is governed by your agreement with that provider, not with us. If you are not comfortable with that, do not connect one; every part of Finocket works exactly as before without it.
Finocket stores your books on servers in Mumbai, India, and connecting an assistant does not move, copy or mirror that store. Our own copy of your data stays exactly where it was. What changes is that answers to questions travel out.
Only what the assistant reads in order to answer you. In practice that can include:
Some of this is personal data belonging to your customers and suppliers, not to you. You are the one deciding to share it. If you handle other people’s books — as a chartered accountant, consultant or bookkeeper — please get your client’s agreement before connecting their workspace, because it is their data that leaves.
The following are absent from what a connected assistant can reach — not switched off by a setting you or anyone else could change, but simply not part of the connection:
Each provider processes your data on its own infrastructure, under its own terms and retention rules. All of the assistants below process outside India:
Beyond the provider itself, your data may be handled by that provider’s sub-processors, hosting partners, and support or operations staff — including outsourced teams and BPOs located outside India. Providers routinely use such teams for abuse review, safety monitoring, incident handling and customer support, and a conversation containing your figures may be visible to them under the provider’s own policies. We have no contract with, visibility of, or control over those parties. Whether your content may be used to train models is also the provider’s decision and is set by your account and plan with them, not by us.
If keeping processing within India matters to you, do not connect one of the assistants above. Where Finocket offers an India-resident AI option, that is stated at the point you choose it.
A connection is created only when you sign in and approve it on our consent screen, which names the assistant, lists what it will be able to read and change, and states plainly that your data will leave India — before you approve.
By approving, you confirm that you understand and accept this, that you have the authority to share the data in that workspace (including any personal data of your customers, suppliers or clients within it), and that you are doing so at your own risk. Demystify Systems LLP is not responsible for what a provider or its personnel do with data once it has left Finocket at your instruction.
Nothing in this policy removes any obligation we cannot lawfully exclude under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or other applicable Indian law. What it does is make plain that this transfer happens only because you chose it, and that the provider’s conduct is outside our control.
If you run more than one business in Finocket, an assistant reaches only the workspace you selected when you approved it. The workspace is fixed at that moment and is not re-read from each request, so a connection cannot be moved to a different set of books. To give an assistant a second workspace, you connect it again and choose that one.
When you approve a connection we store the assistant’s name, the workspace you chose, what you granted it, and when — so that you can review it, so that we can enforce it, and so that a record of your consent exists. We keep this record after you disconnect, as evidence of what was agreed and when. We do not store a copy of your conversations with the assistant; we never see them.
You can end a connection at any time from Settings → Connected AI assistants. It takes effect on the assistant’s very next request — not when its session would have expired.
Disconnecting stops anything further from leaving. It cannot reach back and remove what has already been sent: information already in your conversation history with that provider remains there, under their retention policy. To remove that, delete those conversations with the provider directly, and use whatever data deletion rights their policy gives you.
We may update this policy as the connected assistants change what they offer. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page. Because this governs a feature you opt into rather than the service as a whole, we will not interrupt you with a prompt — but material changes will be described in What’s New.
