Visits & field work — log site visits with voice notes
Record client site visits in seconds — dictate notes by voice, swipe to duplicate or delete, and check the muhurat strip before you schedule.
Visits is Finocket's field-work diary: log every site visit against a client and project, dictate your notes by voice instead of typing, and swipe entries to duplicate or delete. Built for people who spend the day on sites, not at a desk.
How do I log a visit?
- Tap Add → Visit (or the add button on the Visits list).
- Pick the client — or create one right there without leaving the form.
- Pick the project — the list is filtered to that client's projects, and you can inline-create a new one too.
- Set the date. It stays sticky as you log multiple visits, and Finocket hints when you're back-dating or future-dating.
- Choose the type: Site Visit, Plan Check or Final Visit.
- Add notes — type them, dictate them with the mic (speech becomes text as you talk), or record a voice memo and let Finocket transcribe it into the notes.
- Save. It works offline — you'll see “Saved offline” and it syncs later.
A muhurat strip on the form shows auspicious timings, handy when clients ask you to schedule a bhoomi puja or griha pravesh visit on a good muhurat.
How do I find, edit or clean up visits?
The Visits list is searchable — find any visit by client, project or note text. Two swipe gestures speed up housekeeping:
- Swipe left to delete — with an Undo, so a slip of the thumb costs nothing.
- Swipe right to duplicate — perfect for the weekly visit to the same site; duplicate yesterday's entry and just change the date.
Tap a visit to edit its date, type and notes. The client and project are fixed once saved — if a visit was logged against the wrong client, duplicate the details onto a new entry under the right client and delete the old one.
Why log visits at all?
- A defensible record — when a client disputes “you never came to site”, your dated visit log answers.
- Voice-first capture — dictate observations while walking the site; no typing with dusty hands.
- Project context — every visit hangs off a client and project, so the story of a site builds up in one place.
- Fast repeat logging — sticky dates and swipe-to-duplicate make daily rounds a few-second job.
Who can log visits?
Owners and assistants can add, edit, duplicate and delete visits. An accountant sees the list read-only. The Visits module is on by default for business accounts and can be toggled in Profile → Modules & features.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a field visit tracking app for small businesses in India?
Yes — Finocket's Visits module logs each site visit with client, project, date, visit type and notes, and it works offline in the field. Because it lives inside your billing app, visit history and client money sit side by side.
Can I add notes by voice instead of typing?
Yes, two ways: tap the mic to dictate and watch speech turn into text live, or record a voice memo and Finocket transcribes it into the notes field. The saved output is text, so your visit notes stay searchable.
Can I log the same visit every week without retyping?
Swipe right on last week's visit to duplicate it, then change the date. The date field is also sticky while you log a batch, so entering a full week of site rounds takes seconds.
Can I change the client on a saved visit?
No — editing covers date, visit type and notes only. If a visit went against the wrong client or project, duplicate the details onto a fresh entry under the right client and delete the old one (delete has an Undo).
Does logging visits work without internet on site?
Yes. Save a visit with no signal and Finocket shows 'Saved offline', queues it, and syncs automatically when you're back online — nothing is lost between the site and the office.
