Xero exports its contacts, products and reports as CSV or Excel, and Finocket reads them through the general import for any system. There is no Xero-specific importer, so you match the columns once on the first file, and the rest follow the same pattern.
Export from Xero
Contacts → All contacts → Export gives you your customers and suppliers. Business → Products and services → Export gives you items. Accounting → Chart of accounts → Export gives you ledgers. For opening balances, run Accounting → Reports → Trial Balance as at the day before your cut-over and export it to Excel. For transactions, export invoices and bills from Business → Invoices and Business → Bills to pay for the period you want.
Bring them in
Open Import from another system and bring one list at a time, contacts and items first, then the chart of accounts with its balances, then documents. Where Xero writes tax as a name rather than a percentage, map each one to the matching GST rate when Finocket asks.
What comes across
Parties, items, the chart of accounts with opening balances, invoices, bills, payments and journals, the same as any spreadsheet import.
What is deliberately not copied
Bank feeds, reconciliations, attachments, repeating invoice templates and Xero's branding themes stay in Xero. GST filings belong to the GST portal.
