Two devices, both without signal, both editing the same record. When the network returns Finocket has to end up with one answer, on every device and on the server. It does that automatically. What this page is about is the small number of cases where you should be told it happened.
What Finocket decides for you
Anything that describes the world rather than records money. A customer’s address, a phone number, a project’s name, an item’s description, notes on a visit. The later edit wins, quietly. The earlier value is not destroyed — it stays in the sync log, with which device wrote it and when — you are simply not interrupted for a corrected spelling.
What it will not decide for you
Anything where money moved: invoices and their lines, expenses, receipts, credit notes, journal lines, stock movements, rate cards, time entries, recurring rules. If two of your devices settled one of those between them, that is listed for you to look at rather than settled quietly, because a figure nobody chose is not something an app should pick on your behalf.
A handful of customer and item fields are treated as money even though they sit on a master record, and it is worth knowing why. Your GST return reads the customer’s GSTIN, name, state and country from the customer record at the moment you export it, not from a copy stored on the invoice. So a disagreement about a GSTIN can move an invoice between the B2B and B2C parts of a GSTR-1 without a single amount changing. The same goes for an item’s unit, which is the only source of the UQC in the HSN summary.
Two different things, two different words
Superseded means both edits arrived and the later one is what your books now show. The books converged; the other figure was not applied and is recorded.
Refused means nothing moved at all. A posted receipt or journal line cannot be restated or deleted from a second device, so the edit was declined. Your books still say exactly what they said — but somebody meant to change something, and they should know it did not happen.
What do I actually do about one?
Open the record and check the figure. If what your books now show is wrong, correct it there, on that record’s own screen. That path is audited: the correction is captured in the edit log the same way any other correction is, which a paper-only fix on one device would not be.
Why is the page empty?
Because nothing can put anything in it yet. Offline editing through the new sync engine is not switched on for any workspace, so two devices cannot currently contend for the same figure. The page says so in those words rather than showing you a reassuring zero — an empty list and a check that never ran look identical, and only one of them is good news.
Entries you make without signal today still queue and still sync, exactly as before. Anything stuck in that queue is on Offline sync, and it is a connection problem, not a conflict.
