Put products on your shop: the Listings screen

Publish products to a connected Shopify, WooCommerce or Finocket shop and take them down again. What each status means, why available stock is sent rather than shelf stock, how to give one shop a different HSN code or GST rate, and why an unreadable list is never shown as an empty one.

The Listings screen is where you put products on a shop you have connected, and take them off again. It is a list rather than a button on each product, because the question you are really asking is what have I not put on my shop yet.

The screen needs the Inventory module to be on. It works for a shop of your own: Shopify, WooCommerce or your Finocket shop. A marketplace like Amazon manages its own listings, so there is nothing to publish to there. Connecting a shop is covered in Your own store: Shopify and WooCommerce.

Publishing a product

  1. Open the Listings screen from your integrations. If you have no shop connected it says No shop connected and offers a link to connect one.
  2. Choose the shop at the top. If you have more than one, each has its own list.
  3. Find the product. Each row shows a status and the price: Not on the shop, Sending, Live, Taken down or Failed. A failed row shows the shop's reason underneath.
  4. Press Publish. On a product that is already live the button reads Update.

Publishing sends the name, the price and the SKU, and tells the shop how many are available, not how many are on the shelf. Anything already promised to another order is held back so the same item is not sold twice.

Tax on a channel can differ from your catalogue

Each row shows the HSN or SAC code and the GST rate the sale will be taxed as. When this shop overrides your catalogue, the rate is marked (channel), so you can tell an override from a value that is simply echoed. To override either one for this shop, type an HSN and a GST percentage into the boxes on the row before pressing Publish. Leave the boxes empty and the catalogue's value stands. Hover over the unit code and it says why it is what it is, including when GSTN publishes no code for the unit, which is a limit of the notified list and not a mistake in your catalogue.

Taking a product down

The take-down button on a live row makes the product a draft on your shop. It is not deleted, so its web address and any reviews are kept.

Your Finocket shop appears in this list as its own shop once it is published, and taking the shop back to a draft takes its listings down. See Your online store.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the screen say 'No shop connected'?

Listings only works for a shop of your own: Shopify, WooCommerce or your Finocket shop. A marketplace like Amazon manages its own listings, so there is nothing to publish there. Connect a shop first.

What happens when I take a product down?

It becomes a draft on your shop. It is not deleted, so its web address and any reviews are kept.

Why do I see 'could not read your listings'?

Because something went wrong looking them up. That is not the same as nothing being listed. Reload before you publish, or you may push products that are already up.

Can one shop tax a product differently from my catalogue?

Yes. Type an HSN code and a GST percentage on that product's row before you press Publish. The rate is then marked (channel). Leave the boxes empty and your catalogue's value stands.
