Some things you set in Finocket travel with your account to every device you sign in on. Others stay on the phone, tablet or computer you set them on, and reset if you sign in somewhere new. This page lists both kinds plainly, so nothing surprises you when you pick up a different device.
Syncs with your account, on every device
These follow you - sign in on a new phone tomorrow and they're already the way you left them.
- Theme - light, dark, or match my device. Changed from Settings.
- Language - the app's display language.
- Menu layout and density - side menu or top menu, and how tightly rows and tables are spaced. Two team members on the same workspace can each run a different layout - it's tied to the person signed in, not the workspace.
- Your business type (edition) - retail, pharmacy, jewellery, and so on. This one belongs to the whole workspace: every teammate sees the same edition, and only the workspace owner can change it.
- Your name, your plan, and every setting under Business Details, Team, and the other Settings screens that describe your workspace rather than your device.
Stays on this device only
These reset the moment you open Finocket somewhere new - a different phone, a different browser, or even a private/incognito window counts as "somewhere new." Nothing is lost from your books; these are just conveniences, not records.
- Which section you were last in - your last-used report, the tab you left a list screen on, and which settings panels you'd left open.
- Recently viewed - the last few invoices, clients, and screens you opened show up as shortcuts so you can jump back quickly. On the top menu layout, each menu shows its own "Recent" section for that area, with a Clear recent action that only clears what's shown there. These reset on this device when you sign out, and never appear on a device you haven't used them on.
- Dismissed banners and one-time notices - once you close a tip or an announcement on this device, it won't nag you again here, but it can still appear the first time you open Finocket on a new device.
- Side menu collapsed or expanded, and whether the amounts on your dashboard are shown or hidden from view - both are quick toggles meant for the screen in front of you right now.
- "Tally mode" and accounting terminology - if you've switched Finocket to speak in ledger/voucher language instead of plain business language, that choice is remembered on this device only. Set it again on a new device if you want the same wording there.
Why does it work this way?
Anything that describes your business - your name, your plan, your books, your workspace's edition - belongs to your account, so it has to be the same everywhere you sign in. Anything that's really about the device you're holding right now - what you were just looking at, how a menu is arranged on this particular screen size - would be wrong to force onto every device. A phone and a desktop don't need the same "recently viewed" list or the same collapsed menu.
This also means a shared device is safe to sign out of: recently viewed records and anything tied to your workspace are cleared from this device the moment you sign out or switch workspaces, so the next person who signs in here never sees your recent activity.
