Usage & activity — the activity log and AI cost visibility

See what happened in your workspace and what your AI features cost this month — your own activity, the whole team's, and a per-feature and per-user AI spend breakdown. Read-only, and who sees what.

Finocket keeps an activity log of what happens in your workspace and meters what your AI features cost, so you can always answer “who did what?” and “what is the AI costing me?” Open it under Profile → Usage & activity. It is read-only — nothing here changes your books.

Your activity and team activity

The activity log records actions with a plain-language summary, the surface they came from (the app, the API, or an AI agent over MCP) and when they happened. Your activity shows only the actions you took. Team activity shows everyone in the workspace — useful when you share the books with an assistant or your accountant.

AI usage and cost

Every AI call — the assistant chat, scan-to-add on a photo, and voice dictation (transcription) — records the tokens it used and an estimated cost. The Usage page totals this month's spend and breaks it down two ways: by feature (chat, scan, transcribe) and by user. Costs are shown in US dollars and are estimates from public AI list prices — indicative, not a bill.

Who can see what

  • Each user can always see their own activity and their own AI usage.
  • Owners and admins see the whole workspace — every member's activity and the combined AI spend.
  • The Finocket platform team (super-admin) sees cross-organisation totals only — aggregate AI spend by workspace and by feature, and overall activity volume — to run the service. Row-level security keeps every workspace's detailed data private to that workspace.
