Work orders with a real WIP sub-ledger
Run a routed BoM as a work order, tick off each step as it's finished, and material and labour accrue into a work-in-progress sub-ledger in whole paise that reaches the balance sheet — then returns to exactly zero when the order completes or is cancelled. Entries are append-only: there is no rule that lets anyone edit or remove one. A retry after a dropped connection can't double-post, because uniqueness in the database is what stops it. A work order needs a routed BoM; an un-routed one still runs down the simpler one-shot production path.
Capacity you can see before you promise a date
Give a work centre its minutes per day and the capacity view shows where the load lands and which days are over. Be clear what it is: a scheduling heuristic against that per-day figure, not a finite-capacity scheduler and not a master production schedule — a work centre with no minutes set is left out of the overload maths rather than assumed infinite.
