GST calculator

Enter an amount and a GST rate. Choose Add GST if the amount is before tax (exclusive), or Remove GST if tax is already inside it (inclusive). The calculator shows the taxable value, the tax, and the split: CGST + SGST for a sale within your state, IGST for a sale to another state.

GST-exclusive: the amount is the value before tax, and GST is added on top.

CGST (9%)₹900
SGST (9%)₹900
Total GST₹1,800
Total amount₹11,800

Indicative. In Finocket, this split is applied to every invoice line automatically from the place of supply.

Questions

Multiply the pre-tax amount by the rate. At 18%, ₹10,000 carries ₹1,800 of GST, so the total is ₹11,800.

Divide the inclusive amount by (1 + rate). At 18%, ₹11,800 ÷ 1.18 = ₹10,000 taxable value, and the remaining ₹1,800 is the GST.

When the supplier and the place of supply are in the same state, the GST is split equally into CGST and SGST (18% becomes 9% + 9%). When they are in different states, the whole amount is IGST.
