A practice’s own books are the small part of the job. The large part is getting every client’s books into Finocket, one client at a time, and knowing at a glance which clients are done. The client onboarding screen lists all of your clients, lets you start an import for each of them in one go, and shows which are certified.
Open client onboarding from your client portfolio
On your client portfolio, choose Client onboarding. The screen is shown to accountants and admins, and it lists the client workspaces whose owners have accepted your invitation. A client you have not been invited by, or who has not accepted yet, does not appear. Each client is still started only where you have write access to that client’s workspace; a client you can only view is listed but cannot be started.Tick the clients you want to start
Select clients with no import yet ticks the clients that have never had an import, up to 50 at a time. You can also tick clients one by one. A client you can only view, one whose imports could not be read, and one that already has an import open cannot be ticked, and the row says which of these it is.Start the imports
Start creates one import per ticked client, inside that client’s own workspace, never inside yours. Each client gets its own outcome: started, skipped with the reason, or could not start. One client being refused never stops the rest.Add each client’s file
Starting an import does not read a file, because every client has a different one. Use Add file on each row to send that client’s export. The file goes straight to storage and the row says File stored. Stored is all it says: reading the file into the client’s imports is a later step.Watch the Certified column
A client reads Certified once one of its imports has been reconciled and certified. Until then it reads Not yet certified. If a client’s imports could not be read, the row says Could not be read instead, because not being able to look is not the same as not being certified.Add your staff and their roles
Invite your articled staff and seniors to your own workspace as team members and give each the role they need. The accountant guide explains what each role can do.
