Use cases

How a working day runs, step by step.

A client invites you and you land on the cockpit

The client adds you as a read-only team member; their card joins your other clients, ranked by attention.

  1. The client invites you with the Accountant / CA role
  2. You accept the invite from its link
  3. The client appears in your cockpit, ranked by what needs attention
  4. Switch into their workspace from the card
  5. Read their books, reports and GST data without changing anything

Start the week from the exception queue

Each client card carries a health score, and one queue lists what needs you first across clients.

  1. Open your cockpit
  2. Each client card shows a health score: Healthy, Needs attention or Critical
  3. The exception queue lists overdue receivables and GST obligations, worst first
  4. A client with no GST profile is flagged rather than shown as clean
  5. Open the client's reports from its card

Bring a portfolio of clients across

Start one books import per client from a single onboarding screen.

  1. Open the client onboarding screen
  2. Start an import for each client
  3. Attach each client's existing file
  4. See which clients' imports are certified and which are not yet

One calendar for every client's obligations

GST and TDS obligations for all your clients, plus the ITR milestones, sit on one list. ITR rows are advisory and apply across the portfolio.

  1. Open the compliance calendar
  2. An obligation shared by several clients shows once, naming each client
  3. Filter by GST, TDS or ITR, or by one client
  4. A client with no GST profile is listed as not set up
  5. Export the list as a calendar file for your own diary

Monthly GST preparation across clients

For clients who gave you the assistant role, reconcile purchases and build GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B preparation data for several at once. Finocket prepares; you file.

  1. Import a client's GSTR-2B on its purchase reconciliation screen
  2. Match the 2B lines to the purchases in the client's books
  3. Record an IMS action per line and export the sheet to carry to the portal
  4. Pick the clients and the month on the bulk screen
  5. Download each client's GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B preparation data
  6. File on the GST portal as you do today

TDS quarter for a deductor client

Check deposits against deductions and take the quarter's return data to your own utility.

  1. Open the client's TDS returns screen and pick the quarter
  2. Compare the deductions recorded with the challans they were deposited under
  3. Download the quarter's return data as CSV
  4. Download the Form 16A data and the challan sheet
  5. Prepare and file the return in your usual utility

A GST notice arrives

With the assistant role, keep the notice, its reply due date and a reply draft with the client's own records.

  1. Log the notice exactly as received
  2. Its reply due date shows in the notice register
  3. Gather the figures for the reply from the client's own records
  4. Build a reply draft and review every line
  5. Approve it, and the notice is marked replied
  6. Submit the reply on the portal yourself

Chase receivables for clients in one batch

One approval sends each client's own payment reminders to that client's customers, by email.

  1. Open bulk actions for the clients who gave you the assistant role
  2. Review the overdue invoices, worst first across clients
  3. Approve the batch once
  4. Consent and recent reminders are checked again for each recipient
  5. Each reminder goes by email from the client's own workspace

Year-end files from a client's books

Take a period's invoices, statements, reports and Tally import files out of a client's workspace in one download.

  1. Switch into the client's workspace and open Hand to CA
  2. Pick a quarter, the year to date or a financial year
  3. Download one ZIP of invoices, statements and reports
  4. GST return data is included when the client has a GSTIN set up
  5. Import the Tally files in the order the checklist gives

Bill the firm's own fees

Raise fee invoices and monthly retainers from the firm's own workspace.

  1. Add each client of the firm in your own workspace
  2. Raise a fee invoice with a line for each assignment
  3. The invoice works out the GST from the rate you set on each line
  4. Set a monthly or quarterly retainer as a recurring invoice
  5. Each due retainer arrives as a draft for you to review and send
