How a working day runs, step by step.

A haircut, a serum and three ways to pay

One guest, one bill, mixed tender. The stylist is a line field you add once.

  1. Add a Stylist field for bill lines once, in field settings
  2. Ring up the haircut service and the retail serum, each at the GST rate your CA advises
  3. Pick the stylist on the haircut line
  4. Pick the guest, then split: part UPI, part gift voucher, part points
  5. Open the bill and send it on WhatsApp from Share

Selling a gift voucher for a festival

A guest buys a gift voucher at the front desk. The money is recorded as received in advance, not as a sale, until the voucher is spent on a bill.

  1. Open Vouchers and choose Sell a voucher
  2. Enter the value, how the guest paid and, if you want, an expiry
  3. Hand over the code the screen shows
  4. Redeem it later at the till as the voucher part of a bill
  5. The till shows what is left on the voucher

Rewarding regulars

Loyalty points without a separate app. Points go to a named guest, never to a walk-in.

  1. Set the earn rate, minimum spend and expiry under Loyalty
  2. Pick the guest at the till; the points go on when the bill is saved
  3. The till shows the guest's balance when they ask to redeem
  4. Reception takes the points as part of the bill with Split
  5. A serum returned at the till takes back the points its bill earned

Closing the day

Cash, UPI and card add up before the shutter comes down.

  1. Open the register in the morning with the float
  2. At close, count the cash in the drawer
  3. Enter any cash paid out and what it was for
  4. Read the over or short against the expected cash
  5. Print the Z-report with the day's takings by tender

Filing time with your CA

The CA works from your own books. Finocket prepares the figures; you file on the GST portal.

  1. Invite the CA with the read-only Accountant role
  2. The CA reads the month's sales and the GSTR-3B summary on GST returns
  3. Import the GSTR-2B JSON so your purchase bills can be matched
  4. Download the GSTR-1 files as CSV to prepare the portal upload
  5. Hand the CA the books from Hand to CA, with a Tally file if they use Tally

Remembering a regular's colour

A guest's colour formula stays on their record, next to every bill. The fields are your own; nothing is pre-loaded.

  1. Add guest fields once in field settings: colour formula and preferred stylist
  2. Fill them in on the guest's page after the visit
  3. Pick the guest at the till by name or phone
  4. Open the guest's page to read the formula before you mix
  5. See every past bill on the guest's ledger

A bridal party booked as a deal

A bride books hair and make-up for the wedding party. The advance is recorded against the invoice once the booking is confirmed.

  1. Add the enquiry as a deal on the pipeline
  2. Raise an estimate from the deal with each service and the number of guests
  3. Convert the estimate into an invoice with one click when the bride confirms
  4. Record the advance as a part payment on the invoice
  5. Mark the deal Won; the balance waits under Outstanding

Restocking the retail shelf

Serums and shampoos are reordered from a list, not from memory. Finocket shows the list; it does not send a low-stock alert.

  1. Set a reorder level on each retail product
  2. Sell them at the till as product lines
  3. Open Inventory and read the Reorder soon list
  4. Turn the list into draft purchase orders with one tap, and confirm them on Orders
  5. When the stock arrives, enter the distributor's bill; it adds the stock

A second salon

A salon opens a second branch with its own front desk.

  1. Add the branch as a new shop
  2. Add a till counter for its front desk
  3. Give the receptionist the Cashier preset, posted to that shop
  4. Bill from the new counter; each bill carries its shop and counter
  5. Read today's takings shop by shop on Dashboards
