How a working day runs, step by step.

Selling a 22K chain with making charges

The counter prices a chain from weight and the morning's 22K rate.

  1. Owner enters today's 22K rate on the rates screen
  2. Salesperson adds the chain to the bill and types its net weight
  3. Enter making as a percent, per gram or per piece, plus any stone value and wastage
  4. The line shows metal, stones, making and wastage as separate amounts
  5. The jewellery template prints purity and the HUID typed on the line
  6. The bill posts to the books with the GST rate set on the item

Taking old gold against a new necklace

The customer pays part of a new bill with old jewellery.

  1. Raise the bill for the new necklace first
  2. Pick that bill on the old-gold screen
  3. Enter the old gold's weight, the rate per gram and any deduction
  4. The value is set against the bill, never above the bill's total
  5. One balanced journal entry is posted for the exchange
  6. Record the balance the customer pays by UPI, card or cash

Sending metal to a karigar

A goldsmith is issued 50 g of 22K for a set of bangles.

  1. Create a job order with the karigar, metal, purity and weight issued
  2. Receive the finished pieces and type their weight
  3. Wastage is worked out as the weight issued less the weight received
  4. Enter the karigar's making charge and settle the order
  5. Labour and wastage post as one entry, following the shop's wastage setting

Repairing a customer's earring

A walk-in repair is logged, done and billed.

  1. Log the repair with the customer, their phone number and an estimate
  2. Assign a karigar when the work starts
  3. Move the ticket through approved, in repair, ready and delivered
  4. Settle the karigar's labour as one entry in your books
  5. Link the repair bill to the ticket once the work is ready

Month-end GST with your CA

Your CA reviews the month inside the same workspace.

  1. Invite your CA to the workspace
  2. Your CA opens each bill, with making shown apart from the metal value
  3. Import GSTR-2B and match it against your purchases
  4. Prepare GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B; download for your CA or file on the portal yourself

Entering the morning's gold and silver rates

Rates are typed in each morning and kept with their date.

  1. Open Rates under Jewellery when the shop opens
  2. Pick the metal and purity, such as 22K gold or sterling silver, and type the rate per gram
  3. Each rate is added to a dated history; earlier rates stay as they were
  4. Set how many hours a rate stays usable in jewellery settings
  5. A bill line priced on an older rate shows a warning with the rate's age

Seeing what metal each karigar holds

Before issuing more gold, check what a karigar already has.

  1. Add each karigar once as a supplier
  2. Issue metal through job orders and send repairs to them
  3. Open the karigar screen to see each one's open job orders and the metal with them
  4. See their open repairs, and the job orders and repairs not yet settled
  5. Check what you owe a karigar on the suppliers page

Checking which staff can change rates

The owner sees who can manage rates and karigar work.

  1. Invite your staff to the workspace from the Team page
  2. Set each person's access, module by module, on the Team page
  3. As the owner, open the jewellery roles report
  4. See which staff hold each jewellery permission, such as managing rates or karigar work
  5. The report only reads; change access back on the Team page
