Questions about Finocket for Schools

  1. Do I have to store students' details?

No. A bill goes to the payer, usually a parent or guardian. Batch and enrolment number are enough to match a payment (both fields come with the tuition and coaching setup, which sign-up suggests and you apply in Setup review), and we recommend not typing a minor's name or contact details until you have the guardian's consent.

  2. Does Finocket take attendance or run classes?

No. Finocket handles fees, GST and books. Attendance, timetables, exams and live classes are not part of it.

  3. Typing the same fee receipt for every student, every month

A fee register in a notebook or spreadsheet and a receipt book filled in by hand at the desk. A recurring fee bill drafted on the same day every month for you to review and send, with the period covered printed on it (the tuition and coaching setup, which sign-up suggests and you apply in Setup review, adds batch and enrolment number fields to fill on each bill).

  4. Cash collected at the desk never matches the bank

Counting cash at day end and writing a deposit slip. Bank reconciliation that suggests matches between deposits and recorded payments for you to confirm.

  5. Refunds for a student who leaves are calculated by hand

Working out the unused fee on a calculator and paying from petty cash. A credit note against the original bill if it was invoiced, so the books show both.
