Move tagged jewellery pieces between locations

Add piece tags to a transfer, understand custody on dispatch, receipt and cancellation, and check a piece's current position in Pieces.

Business owner

Use Transfers to move stock between locations. With the jewellery pack on, the new-transfer form also shows a piece-tags box for the individual pieces travelling with it.

Add the piece tags

Enter tags separated by commas or semicolons. Leaving the box empty creates a transfer without changing individual piece custody. Each tag must identify one in-stock piece belonging to an item on the transfer. Duplicate tags, unknown tags and tags shared by more than one product are refused. The tag count for an item cannot exceed its transfer quantity.

Draft, dispatch and receipt

Saving the form creates a draft and reserves its tagged pieces for that transfer. Sending the draft changes those reserved pieces to in transfer. A reserved piece or a piece in transfer cannot be billed: billable pieces must be in stock.

Receiving the transfer returns its held pieces to in stock and clears their transfer custody link. Cancelling a draft or a transfer in transit also returns its reserved or in-transfer pieces to in stock and clears that link.

Find a piece afterwards

Open Pieces, enter at least three characters of the tag and submit the search. Each result shows the tag, its product name when available, how it entered stock, its current custody and whether it can be billed.

This lookup shows the piece’s current position, not a dated history of its movements. It tells you a piece is in transfer but not which transfer; open Transfers to see each transfer’s sending and receiving locations.
